What the exam is like (a candidate's report)
From one candidate who passed in July 2026 (896/1,000). Not official; your exam may differ.
- No code. No syntax, parameter names or SDK signatures. Models are described by tier (“mid-tier”, “highest-reasoning tier”), not by name.
- Judgment, not implementation. A scenario and a constraint: how would you guide the team? Often two options are defensible and the question is which comes first: requirements before model selection, diagnose before treating, validate before migrating.
- Tested a lot: classifying requirements (functional, non-functional, business, infrastructure), naming the life-cycle phase from a scenario, Messages API vs. batches vs. streaming, context management, when to build an MCP server vs. a tool vs. a skill, agent deployment trade-offs and when to reach for a hook.
- Learn mechanics well enough to reason about tradeoffs, then stop. Questions tagged detail test specifics (names, numbers, syntax) that the exam reportedly doesn't ask; the mock exam uses exam-style questions first.
Practice tests
A mock exam (53 questions in 120 minutes, weighted like the real exam), or a custom test on the objectives you pick. Take one to see where you stand.
